Morris B. Silver, M.D.
Dr. Silver received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine in 1984. He served his residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in Bronx, New York and then continued to receive his fellowship in Gastroenterology from New York Medical College in 1989. Board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Silver is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA) and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG).
Dr. Silver held a private practice in Gastroenterology until 1990 when he moved on to Talbert Medical Group for eight years as a leading member in Gastroenterology. Since 1998, Dr. Silver has held another private practice and tended to patients at UCLA Medical Group in Santa Monica.
With 27 years of medical and surgical experience, Dr. Silver is an expert in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases of the digestive system. Truly committed to the well being of his patients, he is noted for his care, precision, and expertise in his practice.
Edgar Mehdikhani, M.D.
Dr. Mehdikhani is another leading member of our Gastroenterology and Hepatology department. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of California at Los Angles. He then attended Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science where he received his medical degree in 2004. Subsequently he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, after which he proceeded to complete his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 2010.
Highly skilled and knowledgeable in his field, Dr. Mehdikhani has been featured in several publications, including a book chapter on Gastroparesis in the 4th edition of GI/Liver Secrets.
Aside from conventional endoscopic procedures, Dr. Mehdikhani is also skilled in advanced endoscopic interventions including Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP), single balloon enteroscopy, and wireless capsule endoscopy.
Marc Edelstein, MD
Dr. Marc Edelstein is a highly acclaimed Gastroenterologist and is recognized as an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders and the performance of endoscopic procedures.
Dr. Edelstein earned his Bachelor’s Degree and Doctorate in Medicine at Boston University. He then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA Medical Center, followed by his fellowship in Gastroenterology also at UCLA Medical Center. UCLA is consistently rated one of America’s best hospitals (#3 in the country) and it ranks #5 in the United States for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders (US News and World Report’s 2009 Best Hospital Rankings).
Dr. Edelstein is a Diplomate of the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. In addition to numerous other professional honors and distinctions, he has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Edelstein has also been elected Clinical Chief of Gastroenterology and to the Board of Governors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. In 2010, he was appointed Clinical Instructor, UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. He is the cofounder, vice chairman, and medical director of K/E Centers for Advanced Medicine. He has served on many local and national professional committees, and is currently the vice president and a member of the Board of Directors of Young Physicians Organization.
